Viettel Group and KT Corporation of South Korea have signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement to drive comprehensive digital transformation in Vietnam, underpinned by AI. This collaboration aims to strengthen Vietnam’s technological competitiveness regionally by combining Viettel’s large-scale digital and telecom infrastructure with KT’s proven expertise in AI and platform development.
Under the agreement, Viettel will leverage its deep understanding of the domestic market and its nationwide digital network to lead implementation in Vietnam, while KT will contribute its R&D capabilities and best-in-class AI platforms that have already been validated in Korea. Together, the two companies will co-create AI solutions tailored to Vietnamese conditions and extend them to international markets.
Key areas of cooperation include:
- AI Transformation (“AX”) Platforms & Ecosystems
Co-development and deployment of AI-driven digital platforms, data infrastructures, and end-to-end AI ecosystems to support companies in rethinking operations, decision-making, and value creation. - Nationwide AI Services for Citizens and Enterprises
Viettel will research and adapt AX services for public use—empowering households and individuals—and will also offer specialized AI solutions for businesses and government agencies to modernize national digital infrastructure. - Dedicated AI Data Centers & GPU Clusters
Joint construction of AI-optimized data centers and high-performance GPU server clusters. - Talent Development
Establishment of a Global Development Center in Hanoi to train top-tier IT and AI professionals, expanding training programs and cultivating Vietnam’s next generation of AI experts.
At the signing ceremony, Viettel Group’s Chairman & CEO Mr. Tào Đức Thắng said, “This agreement marks the beginning of a strategic alliance between Viettel and KT.
