Viettel has officially broken ground on a new 140MW data center campus in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, a key milestone in the company’s long-term strategy to expand its digital infrastructure capabilities across Southeast Asia.
The new facility is set to become one of the Top 10 largest data centers in Southeast Asia, offering approximately 10,000 racks across a 40,000 sqm (430,000+ sq ft) site. The campus is being developed at Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park, just 25 km from central Ho Chi Minh City and 15 km from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, making it well positioned to serve both domestic and regional demand.
Designed to meet Uptime Tier III standards and targeting a PUE below 1.4, the new data center reflects Viettel’s commitment to delivering high-performance, energy-efficient infrastructure for cloud, AI, and enterprise workloads.
According to Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group:

This new project is part of Viettel’s broader vision to develop 24 data centers by 2030, with a combined capacity of 560MW, positioning Viettel as a leading provider of digital infrastructure in Southeast Asia.
Currently, Viettel operates 15 data centers across Vietnam, offering a combined capacity of 87MW. The expansion reflects the region’s growing demand for secure, scalable, and sustainable infrastructure, particularly as global enterprises increasingly look to Asia for hybrid and multi-cloud deployments.
